Formed on Monday, May 20, 1907, in Pasadena, California, the Pasadena Motorcycle Club is now the third oldest in the United States, behind the Yonkers Motorcycle Club (est. 1903) in Yonkers, NY and California's San Francisco Motorcycle Club (est. 1904). The club was the fourteenth chartered by the American Motorcyclist Association.〔http://www.amadirectlink.com/organizers/resources/Organizers_News/October_2008.pdf〕 Pasadena Motorcycle Club (PMC), since its formation in 1907, has remained active, including throughout World War I and World War II. It has had several clubhouses, the current one was purchased by the club, a non-profit organization, on Howard Street in Pasadena in 1946 and is where the members meet every * Monday night to discuss club business. The PMC is a family club or a riding club, not an outlaw motorcycle club, which promotes several motorcycle road rides and events every year that are open to the public; often benefiting a charity such as the nearby Optimist Youth Homes & Family Services. The pride of the PMC is its historically significant Greenhorn Enduro which was a nationally recognized, famously rough, 500 mile off-road race. The Greenhorn (1937–present) continues to be organized by the PMC. It has evolved into a popular 2-day road tour, open to the public, that takes place each year around May/June on many scenic back roads of California. The route is always new and kept secret until the start of the event. *every Monday except national holidays. May 21, 1907 - "Pasadena has a large number of motorcyclists and last evening they formed an organization which will be known as the Pasadena Motorcycle Club. The members of the organization concluded their meeting by electing H.C. Folts as captain with Philip Senour as president; Alfred Wenger, vice... president; Edward Koudenclose, secretary, and Marshal Hayes, treasurer. The club is the third of its kind organized in the state, the only other two being in Los Angeles and San Francisco." -Archived -The Library of Congress, Historic American Newspapers, Chronicling America-LosAngelesHerald ==References== American Motorcycle Association, 2008 The Library of Congress, Historic American Newspapers, Chronicling America http://chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/ http://motorcyclemuseum.org/halloffame/detail.aspx?RacerID=389 http://budanddaveekins.com/stories-photos/greenhorn-enduro.cfm http://www.motorcyclemuseum.org/halloffame/detail.aspx?RacerID=303 http://motorcyclemuseum.org/halloffame/detail.aspx?RacerID=137 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Pasadena Motorcycle Club」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
